Head of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety. (Mansfield / Field based)

£60k - £65k depending on experience plus car allowance (£7000), Bonus, Pension, Private Medical Insurance, Life Assurance and 25+8 days holiday.

Our client is a recognised global leader working within the Logistics Industry.

You will play a critical role in developing and implementing robust QEHS strategies and systems that meet the requirements of our business. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and teamwork are highly valued.

You'll need to establish strong relationships with key business stakeholders, managing their requirements and delivering initiatives to satisfy the wider business objectives to ensure we deliver Operational services effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the local Quality Management System is compliant to the agreed scope, whilst maintaining ISO9001 & 14001 accreditations.
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the management team and employees, developing, setting, and monitoring progress of goals and site performance.
  • Deliver Environmental training across the business to upskill our workforce.
  • Provide support for the Group H&S Manager ensuring consistent approach between Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety matters across all areas of the business.
  • Assist where required with the delivery of H&S training and awareness programmes across the business.
  • Support the Group H&S Manager with the review, develop, and implementation of the HSE Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments for all associated operations and HSE campaigns.
  • Lead environmental incident investigations and support with accident investigations making appropriate recommendations for remedial action to prevent and recurrences
  • Manage the site Environmental Permits including Local Authority audits and compliance
  • Lead programmes concerned with the development of new and existing environmental and H&S processes.
  • Report site KPIs / metrics to the UK Board highlighting performance, compliance, and improvement initiatives, generate improvement action plans where gaps are identified.
  • Promote H&S, Environmental, and Energy Management awareness and culture in the company by organising training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
  • Implement and manage robust quality control systems and process to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Scheduling and planning internal audits at appropriate intervals, addressing raised issues, and implementing corrective actions to close out non-conformances.
  • Manage and maintain customer specific certifications and audits aligned to their expectations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of international standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, as well as familiarity with local regulations in the United Kingdom.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of current Environmental and H&S legislation
  • A strong understanding of quality control systems and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail to identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Professional certifications related to quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager), environmental management (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional), and health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate) are highly desirable.
  • Educated to degree level preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures used in logistics or Production operations preferred.
