Commercial Manager
Oxfordshire (office based)
Salary: £50-£60k + negotiable

We're looking for someone with a finance or accounting background who has since moved into a commercial role, comfortable owning the figures and driving growth in a small, ambitious business.

Our client is a CQC rated Outstanding home care agency based in Oxfordshire, providing domiciliary and live-in care across the county and surrounding areas. They were one of the first agencies in the county to achieve Outstanding across all five CQC categories, a distinction held by only a small percentage of care providers nationally, and have recently been recognised with industry awards for the standard of care they provide.

With a strong and growing team already in place, they're now looking for a Commercial Manager to take ownership of driving the business forward commercially. This is a rare opportunity to step into a business with a genuinely strong reputation and real headroom for growth, and to shape how it develops over the next phase.

The role

This is a commercially led leadership role, not a care delivery role. You'll take full ownership of the figures, the team, and the growth strategy, working closely with the owner to take on more and more of the day to day running of the business over time.

• Full P&L ownership, understanding where the money comes from and where it goes, and making the figures work
• Leading and managing the office team and the wider care workforce
• Driving marketing and business development activity: website, SEO, Google Ads, literature and referral channels
• Applying sound, common sense management to the day to day issues that come with running a growing service
• Working with existing marketing and content suppliers to build on momentum already in place

Client contact is not a core part of this role. You'll be focused on running and growing the business rather than delivering or managing care on the ground.

About you

We're looking for someone with a background in accounting or finance who has since moved into a commercial role, understanding the numbers but driven by growing a business rather than working purely in a technical function. Equally, we'd welcome someone from a strong marketing or commercial background with a genuine head for figures.

You do not need any background in the care sector, in fact we'd prefer it. We're looking for someone with drive, ambition and the hunger to build something, who can bring fresh thinking and outside experience rather than preconceived ideas about how a care business should run.

• A finance, accounting or strong commercial background
• Proven experience driving growth in a business, whether through general management, operations or a commercial function
• Genuine drive and ambition, comfortable being measured on results rather than hours at a desk
• Confident managing people and process, with sound, practical judgement
• No care sector background required, and candidates from entirely different industries are actively encouraged to apply
