Up to £51,750 a year including allowance | Permanent | Sunday to Thursday nights | Food manufacturing

Are you a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with an electrical bias who’s looking for a permanent night shift role? This established food manufacturer in Leamington Spa needs an engineer to keep its fully automated production plant running smoothly overnight, and it’s offering strong pay, a regular shift pattern and real scope to develop.

What’s in it for you

  • £40,000 to £45,000 basic salary
  • 15% night shift allowance on top, taking total earnings up to £51,750
  • Regular nights: Sunday to Thursday, 9pm to 5am, with Friday and Saturday nights off
  • No rotating shifts, so you always know where you stand
  • Company pension
  • Free on-site parking
  • Ongoing training on modern automated process and packaging equipment
  • A permanent role with an established, growing manufacturer

The role
You’ll be the go-to engineer on nights. You’ll keep production on target by diagnosing and fixing faults across process and packaging lines.

  • Fault-find and fix electrical and mechanical breakdowns across a fully automated food production plant
  • Use PLC diagnostics to get lines running again quickly
  • Carry out and help develop planned preventative maintenance (PPM) routines through the site’s maintenance system
  • Help improve plant performance and reduce downtime as part of a strong continuous improvement culture
  • Work to high safety, hygiene, quality and cost standards in a food environment

What you’ll need

  • Experience as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment, ideally food, FMCG or packaging
  • A strong electrical bias with solid mechanical skills
  • Recognised engineering and electrical qualifications
  • Working knowledge of PLCs for fault-finding
  • Confidence fault-finding across all engineering disciplines and seeing repairs through to a lasting fix
  • The ability to prioritise and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic workshop skills
  • Refrigeration experience would be an advantage
  • Your own transport, as the site isn’t reachable by public transport at shift times

Location: Leamington Spa, within easy reach of Warwick, Kenilworth, Southam, Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon and Banbury.
